Each woman is represented through three interconnected images. The first is a photograph of the place where she slept, preserving the traces of a past marked by uncertainty and survival.
The second is a studio portrait, created in a temporary DIY studio that I built inside the association where we met. By transforming a familiar support space into a portrait studio, I wanted to offer each woman the same attention, care, and respect given to any portrait sitter.
The third is a handwritten letter addressed to her future self, a personal archive of hopes, fears, and dreams of finding a job, a home, freedom, and happiness.
The Hidden Women is more than a documentary project. It is a collaboration built on trust, where photography becomes a space for visibility, self-expression, and healing.
